D&C-Vaginal Colour And Your Health-THS

There are a lot of misconceptions about vaginal discharge. Some think discharge is good while some think it might signal something wrong down there. Every woman experiences vaginal discharge and it is perfectly normal to maintain the pH balance of the vaginal area. The colour of your vaginal discharge is usually clear or milky white, but an imbalance of the pH level, infection or other health condition can make your colour change. Here is how you can decode the colour of your vaginal discharge:

3/7

Cloudy Or Yellow Discharge

Cloudy or yellow discharge: This kind of discharge could indicate an STD infection like gonorrhoea. The other things apart from the colour of the discharge that you should watch out for are bleeding between periods, urinary incontinence and pelvic pain.

5/7

Pink Discahrge

Pinkish discharge: This happens most often postpartum. A pinkish discharge usually signals the shedding of the uterine line or lochia (bleeding after childbirth).

White And Grey Discharge

White or grey discharge: A whitish grey or even yellow discharge with a fishy odour could indicate bacterial vaginosis, a bacterial infection that leads to itching, burning, redness and swelling in the vaginal area.
