Inhalers are like a lifeline for asthmatics. There is a variety of them in the market. Each is designed for a specific purpose and use. However, at times all these options can make it a little overwhelming for a patient to choose the right one. Combination Corticosteroid

Combination corticosteroids inhalers: These inhalers give you a two-way action. It is packed with both an inhaled long-acting bronchodilator (LABA) and an inhaled corticosteroid. The bronchodilator works by widening the airways, making it easier to breathe and steroid reduces and prevents inflammation of airways. Long Acting Symptom Controllers

Long-acting symptom controllers: These controllers dilate the airways for up to 12 hours and needs to be taken with inhaled steroids. With these controllers, the drawback is that you need to use two separate inhalers as they won’t be able to reduce the inflammation of the airways on their own and one will need small doses of steroid.

Preventors 2

Preventers (non-corticosteroid): These inhalers don’t contain steroids and reduce and prevents inflammation in the airways over the long term, helping one breathe more easily. They need to be used even when one doesn't show any symptoms as the effect reflects after a prolonged use of these inhalers.
