Types Of Bumps You Should Never Pop

We understand that it can be very tempting to pop and squeeze the acne whenever you look in the mirror. But popping the zits can cause your skin to break apart and make it more susceptible to an infection. To prevent scarring and other damages avoid popping out these types of zits, says dermatologist Dr Sejal Shah.

Ingrown Hair

Ingrown hair: It is never a good idea to pluck the ingrown hair using a tweezer or fingers as doing so can break the skin and lead to further inflammation and infection. You can instead wash the area with an exfoliating cleanser to help the hair reach the skin surface.

Whiteheads

Whiteheads: Attempting to pop blackheads may seem like an easy option, but squeezing them can force the bacteria deeper into the skin. It is best that you scrub your skin to work the dirt and oil out without pricking your skin.

Keratosis Pilaris

Keratosis pilaris: Often referred to as chicken skin, this condition is a buildup of keratin on the skin that blocks the opening of a hair follicle. Squeezing these bumps can scar your skin and also increase the redness.
