Motion Sickness

While most children look forward to family road trips, many cower in fear from the very thought of travelling long distances. The problem is motion sickness or an unpleasant nauseous feeling that happens when you are moving in a vehicle, boat or an amusement park ride. Common in children between the ages of 2 and 12, motion sickness affects a fourth of the population and is singlehandedly responsible for ruining many childhood memories. Luckily, the nausea can be tackled with a few handy ingredients from your pantry. Stock up on these things if your child or you are susceptible to motion sickness.

Cola Soda For Nausea

Aerated drinks: Now many moms don't fancy giving cola to their children, but it is quite effective in controlling nausea. If you are not too keen on giving sugary cola drinks, try plain soda with a squeeze of lemon and ginger.

Mint For Nausea

Anything mint: Fresh minty fragrance can put nausea of your mind. Fresh leaves can bruise easily and let out an unpleasant smell during travel. So carry peppermint oil or candies instead. Mint flavoured chewing gum can work wonders too!

Ice Tea Motion Sickness

Ice tea: Tea has citrusy undertones and can work well to suppress nausea. Carry bottles of ice tea, either peach or lemon flavoured, during your trip.
