Your nose is one of the most delicate areas of your body so you may just want to think twice before putting or applying anything on it. Dr. Geeta Karkera tells you should avoid putting in your nose.
Fingers: Picking your nose with your fingers can transfer the microbes on your fingers and nails to your nasal passage. The moist environment in your nasal passage can be perfect breeding ground for bacteria which then make you suffer from an infection.
Vaporups: Many also put the over-the-counter decongestants directly in their nose. Although it helps clear a stuffy nose, applying it can lead to burning, stinging, and sneezing and also increased nasal discharge.
Nasal inhalers: Once you start using nasal inhalers you cannot discontinue it as doing it will worsen the nasal congestion. Your condition may just get worse if you abruptly stop using inhalers after many days of use.
Clip-on nose ring: A clip-on nose ring could be a way to fake a piercing but wearing one also leads to painful inflammation. It can also interfere with sneezing or blowing your nose when you suffer from nasal congestion.
Tweezers: You also need to stop plucking nose hair using tweezers. Plucking hair from your nose can lead to a little bleeding in the area and pulling hair from this delicate area can be extremely painful.
