A study published in PLoS One journal in 2014 found that severe eczema during infancy was associated with an increased risk of asthma at the age of 10 years [1]. Obesity

Individuals suffering from eczema are also at a higher risk of being obese and suffering from other health problems as compared to others [2]. Researchers say that people suffering from eczema are less likely to exercise because sweating can aggravate their skin condition.This puts them at a higher risk of high cholesterol and blood pressure.

Drinking And Smoking

Other than obesity and cardiovascular diseases, eczema patients have been found to be more vulnerable to excessive drinking and smoking as compared to healthy individuals [3]. Researchers also found a link between eczema and sleep disturbances that can cause fatigue, daytime sleepiness. Other than this, eczema patients also have lower self-esteem as compared to healthy individuals.
