At some point in our lives, we have all wondered whether we are truly smart or not. If you are still in doubt, here are eleven scientific factors that could make you smarter than the rest.
You are more intelligent if you the first born. Yes older siblings, gloat all you want! There are studies that state the first borns are smarter than their younger siblings. [1]
There is a connection between your height and your intelligence. As if there aren’t enough benefits of being tall, scientists have also uncovered a connection between height and human intelligence. [2]
Your parents were smart. It pays to be born in a smart family, partly. A study conducted by the University of Queensland states that at least 20 % to 40% of a child’s intelligence is inherited from its parents. [3]
You learnt music in your early years. If you learnt to play an instrument in the formative years of your life, chance are you are more high-functioning than your peers. [4]
You are an atheist. This one is a little controversial, but American-British evolutionary psychologist and researcher Satoshi Kanazawa states that atheists may be more intelligent than their God-fearing counterparts. [5]
