Trichotillomania: Not many people know that over plucking of eyebrows can also lead to eyebrow loss, which is seen in people suffering from trichotillomania. An impulse control disorder, there is no cause of trichotillomania. However, stress is known to trigger the condition, which also affects the eyebrows along with hair.



Leprosy: A skin condition, leprosy is an infection caused by bacteria Mycobacterium leprae, which usually affects the limbs. It also affects the skin around the eyebrows. People suffering from leprosy often suffer from loss of sensation and permanent loss of hair, especially from the eyebrow region.


Nutrition Defeciency

Nutritional deficiency: The significance of a balanced diet cannot be emphasised enough as lack of nutrients can also have an effect on the eyebrows also. The deficiency of iron, zinc, calcium, biotin, selenium, vitamin D and B12 can hamper hair growth causing thinning of eyebrows. Chemotherapy: Yes, some chemotherapy drugs can cause temporary hair loss of the scalp hair as well as eyebrows and eyelashes. Moreover, hair loss is one of the common side-effects of many drugs, which also causes falling out of the eyebrows. It might take months for the hair to regrow post treatment.



Atopic Dermatitis: Commonly known as eczema, atopic dermatitis is a skin condition that is caused due to an inflammation of the skin, which can cause falling off the eyebrows.
