This inflammatory state may contribute to the development and progression of atherosclerosis, the buildup of fatty plaques that can lead to CVD.
Beans: Black beans have more soluble fibre than a cup of oats. Bean rich diets help to make your arteries more elastic that helps to lower your blood pressure. They contain anti-oxidants that help to reduce the inflammation that results in heart diseases.
Lentils: Lentils are powerhouses of proteins and can reverse the damage caused by high blood pressure on your blood vessels. They contain very less fat and are rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium which help to reduce the blood pressure.
Oats: A rich source of soluble fibre, oats help to reduce bad cholesterol levels. Cholesterol can seep into the inner layer of your blood vessels and gradually result in formation of plaque.
Fish: Fish contain omega 3 fatty acid that enhances your brain power. Inflammation can result in plaque buildup, this is where fish helps to reduce it in our arteries. Try to consume salmon and mackerel twice a week.
