Mumbai-based Dattadri Kothur makes eco-friendly ganpati idols that have plant seeds in them. At the end of the festival, you can place the ganpati in a pot with soil and water it. The idol dissolves and the seeds are automatically sown in the pot. Soon, you will have a beautiful plant growing. Rintu Rathore makes the most delicious ganpati-- sculpted out of edible chocolate. For visarjan, she suggests submerging the ganpati in milk and then distributing the chocolate milk among underprivileged children. That's what she does. She can be contacted at 8691958484.

Another brain-child of Rintu Rathore, this eco-friendly Ganpati comes sitting on a potted plant. Made out of potter's clay, or kacchi mitti, all you have to do is pour some water on the idol and it will dissolve. This idol is priced at Rs 250, and the sum is donated to various NGOs. Rintu has roped in many underprivileged kids to make the idols.
