Use unscented pads: Your menstrual pads can sometimes trigger serious itchiness. That’s because some menstrual pads contain perfume and cause all the irritation. So if you notice that you are particularly itchy in that area around your period, switch to unscented varieties of the pad.
Use a yeast infection cream: If you have had a yeast infection before and you know that an OTC cream can help, apply some in the area. You can get a yeast infection even in your vulva and there are creams that can provide you with some relief.
Check your soap: Your vulva can be sensitive to some soap especially the one that contains fragrances. Sometimes just eliminating a particular product can make all the difference. Try switching to a hypoallergenic soap.
Apply tulsi leaves: Tulsi leaves are rich in thymol and eugenol which have the ability to reduce irritation of the skin. Just wash a few leaves and rub them over the affected area. Or prepare a tea by boiling a few leaves of water in a covered utensil; then dip a cotton ball or cloth into the tea and apply to the itchy skin.
Avoid fermented foods: Yes, suffer from a frequent yeast infection and itchiness, avoid foods such as bread, cheese and alcoholic beverages. This is because foods made from yeast or containing yeast promotes yeast growth, which causes irritation and infection in the vagina.
