Dogs--One of the biggest risks of having an unvaccinated dog as a pet is contracting rabies. Rabies is spread by the bite of an infected animal and it affects the nervous system. It is usually fatal. Dogs can also spread hookworm and roundworm infections. These worm eggs are present in the faeces of the animal, and you can contract infection if your skin comes in contact with it while walking barefoot or while cleaning it.
