Dengue New Strain
Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. It is a significant public health concern. The common symptoms of dengue fever include high fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, joint and muscle pain, rash, and mild bleeding. In some cases, people find relief through supportive care and rest, but in others, it can lead to life-threatening complications. Controlling dengue fever is crucial to prevent its spread and protect public health.
Dengue is transmitted through the bite of infected female Aedes mosquitoes. When these mosquitoes bite a person suffering from the dengue virus, they can transmit the virus to other people. It is not spread from person to person through casual contact.
There are four types of dengue strains: DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4. All these strains are transmitted through Aedes mosquitoes and not through person-to-person contact.
In this strain, you also experience mild symptoms, but they differ from DENV-1. Symptoms of DENV-2 include severe abdominal pain, vomiting, bleeding in gums or nose, rapid breathing, and restlessness in the body. DENV-2 symptoms are more severe than DENV-1 symptoms.
DENV-3 can cause serious illness. With DENV-3, you may experience all the symptoms of DENV-1 along with haemoconcentration, low platelet count, and fluid accumulation in the lungs. This strain can lead to more severe complications compared to DENV-1.
DENV-4 is the least common strain. In this strain, you may also experience symptoms similar to DENV-1, but with additional features like conjunctivitis and swollen lymph nodes.
