Most people think that fungal and yeast infections are a woman’s thing and men can get away from an attack of these microorganisms. Turns out this is not true. Candida yeast lives in the moist areas of the body irrespective of the gender. In general, they don’t cause any trouble but an overgrowth of the same can lead to infections in any part of the body and the most infection-prone area is the genitals. Having sex with partners affected by the infection: Yes, women are prone to getting these infections, thanks to the vaginal flora that gets affected by the slightest change in hormonal balance. Having sexual intercourse with an affected partner increases one’s chance of getting the same infection manifold.

Alcohol Abuse

Alcohol abuse: Substance abuse does a man no good. Even if you are an occasional drinker or restrict your alcohol intake to just beer, it can still disturb the bacterial flora in the genitals and give rise to either a fungal or yeast infection.
