Lack of vitamin D causes depression: It is related to the fact that vitamin D promotes synthesis of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which are linked to depression.
Switch to fresh fruits from fruit juices - Packaged fruit juices would be convenient to carry while you are rushing to work, but they are high in sugar content and provide little nutritional value. A fresh apple contains just 2.6 tsp of sugar and not more than 50 calories, whereas a 250 ml glass of apple juice comes with 6 tsp of sugar and 123 calories. Also, fresh fruits are packed with fibre and can save you from hunger pangs.
Too much or too less sleep can make you depressed: You must have heard that too much sleep may lead to depression, but research has shown that lack of sleep also causes depression. Sleeping for less than six hours a day may trigger symptoms of depression in adolescents too.
