Dryness inside your mouth can be quite uncomfortable and irritating. Dryness inside your mouth is known as xerostomia. It is a condition in which enough saliva is not produced inside your mouth or the saliva’s composition is altered. This leaves your mouth feeling dry and sticky. The salivary glands may fail to function properly if you are suffering from dehydration, depression, anxiety, stress or because of excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. To combat the dry condition here we list down a few handy ways.

Lemon-juice

Lemon: Lemon juice is a great way to increase the saliva production and treat your dry mouth. Its acidic properties cleanse your mouth of the bad breath and germs. Just squeeze half a lemon or full as per your choice in a glass of water and a spoon of honey. Hydrate: Dehydration can leave your mouth dry so just hydrate. Increase your fluid intake to enable your body to produce the required amount of saliva. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and sodas as they increase the risk of dehydration.

Cayenne Pepper: One of the best remedies, cayenne pepper increases the production of saliva. It also improves your ability to distinguish between different flavours of sweet, sour, bitter and salty.
