Increase fibre intake: Fibre or fibre rich foods do not tax your immune system. Eat low-fat diet: Medication and treatment to treat HIV infection are very strong which negatively affects appetite of the patients and leads to many health complications such as gastrointestinal issues, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. These medications require the patients to switch to a low-fat diet. It is advised to avoid trans fats or hydrogenated oils, canned juices, sweetened beverages and high fat desserts like ice-creams and cookies.

Omega 3 Fatty Acid

Increase the intake of omega 3 fatty acids: Omega 3 fatty acids are very important to improve reduced levels of immunity for HIV patients. Wheat germ, flaxseed, tofu, soymilk, soybeans and soy-based foods are excellent options for vegetarians.
