Donate Plasma

Convalescent plasma therapy, which uses blood from people who've recovered from an illness to treat other patients, is seen as an effective treatment for COVID-19. This is because plasma from blood donated by people who have recovered from COVID-19 has antibodies to the virus. But it is seen that those who have recovered from COVID come forward to donate plasma only if some relatives or friends are involved. Moreover, people are also scared of coming to plasma banks or hospitals for donation for fear getting infected with COVID again. So, the Delhi High Court recently suggested to the Delhi government to chase celebrities who got infected with COVID-19 and have recovered from it to donate plasma and ask them to give a statement encouraging others to also donate. A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli felt that such publicity is needed to streamline the process of plasma donation and make it donor friendly. People would be convinced if they see someone they know coming forward to donate, it said. To help the Delhi government, we have made a list of celebrities who recovered from COVID and who could be approached for plasma donation.
