Organ donation is a noble, life-saving act that offers hope to thousands of individuals awaiting organ transplants, and many may never receive the call for their second chance at life. Only a tiny fraction of them receive a second lease of life due to overwhelming demand and acute paucity of donors.

Let's hear from a donor who was able to save lives despite having a history of medical illness. Age is no barrier to organ and tissue donation as there is no set age limit. There is a misconception that a history of medical illness will prevent me from becoming an organ donor.

Despite former diseases, specific organs may be healthy and matched for the transplant. For instance, patients with a previous history of cancer may still be able to donate their eyes.
