There may be times in your life when nothing goes according to your plans. Your work, your relationships and your health go for a toss and it may seem like you are losing control of your life. At such times, remember the adage: The best thing about hitting rock bottom is that the only way to go is UP! Here are some things you could do to find balance and control in your life again.


Time Out

Take a break: When things don't the way you want, it's time you stop and reflect. It's difficult to think straight when there is chaos all around. So apply for a leave and go on a short vacation.  Also Read - Yoga Asanas To Boost Digestion



Spend time with yourself: Perhaps the best person to guide you out of your mess is not your 4am friend or your spouse, but yourself. Use that vacation and your 'me' time to reflect on your life and wait for the solution to come to you.



Spend time with someone you love: The next best thing to spending time alone is spending time with someone you love. Eat Healthy

Eat clean: Comfort foods may seem great at the moment, but all the trans fats, sugars and caffeine can add to your anxiety and depression, making you feel worse about yourself. Instead of losing control, stick to your diet and give yourself the fitness goals you deserve!



Fix a bedtime routine: Go to sleep every day on the same time and make sure you don't stay up late. Similarly, avoid oversleeping and wake up at the same time every day. Give fitness a chance: It's easy to take your health lightly when you are down in the dumps. But that's no excuse to abuse your body and binge eat; Go for walks in the morning or join a gym. If those things are too boring, dance to your favourite songs every day. You need to get those feel good hormones pumping again.



Seek support in the spiritual: Sometimes, it's good to surrender yourself to higher powers and accept that there are things you cannot change. Give yourself a personal challenge: Learn how to hula hoop or rouse that dusty old guitar from its slumber. And no matter what you do, don't be tempted to give up. Any achievement, big or small, will give you the confidence to take your life by its horns again!


Throw Phone

Get off the internet: Literally or figuratively, throwing that smart phone away can do you a lot of good. You don't want to waste your time binge-watching TV shows at days on end or stalking your well-heeled friends and exs. Keep screen time to a bare minimum.
