Winter Lip Care For Chapped Dry Lips

Come winters and you will soon experience unattractive, dry, chapped lips if you haven’t started taking care of them already. Along with your skin, your lips need that extra care during winters. So act fast, before the chapped lips make an appearance. Here are some tips to keep your lips soft, supple and moist.

Biting Dry Lips

Lip biting: Avoid peeling off the dead skin from the lips as it can lead to injury and an infection thereafter. Resist the temptation to lick dry lips. Whenever you feel the dryness, sip some water and apply a lip balm. Licking tends to dry off the lips more as the saliva evaporates.

Exfoliation Chapped Lips

Exfoliate: Just like your face, dead skin accumulates on the lips too. Apply a natural scrub made from olive oil and sugar and massage it gently on your lips. Invest in a baby tooth brush and use it to gently to rub off the dead skin from your lips. Wipe lips with wet cotton or a soft tissue. Repeat this on alternate days for kissable lips during winter.  Also Read - 5 Superfoods For Full Body Detox

Soft Nude Lipstick

Libra (September 23 – October 22) Soft Nude: You are an ideally balanced individual who detests self promotion. A deadly combination of sky high ambitions and a low key personality, a soft nude lip that does not overshadow your natural beauty is perfect for you.

Matte Lipstick Tip

Avoid matte lipsticks: These lipsticks not only dry lips out due to lack of moisture but also make chapped lips evident. However, if you love matte shades, apply a lip balm before the lipstick and after you remove it. Exfoliate your lips the night before applying the matte shade to smoothen out cracks or dead skin on the lips. Also Read - Menstrual Cycle And Periods: Why It Might Be Wrong To Use The Terms Interchangeably

Natural Lip Balm

Unflavoured lip balms: While fruit flavoured balms may smell delicious, avoid lip balms that have added colours and artificial fragrances. These chemicals tend to dry out your lips and also cause irritation. You can apply natural oils like coconut, olive, almond, jojoba and cocoa or shea butter for moisturising lips naturally.

Dry Lips Remedy Tip

Drinking water: Keeping yourself hydrated solves most of the beauty problems. Dehydration is one of the causes of chapped lips. Drink at least eight glasses of water even during winters to avoid dry, chapped lips.  Also Read - 7 Fitness Rules Prateik Babbar Lives By
