One Of The Most Awaited Festivals Is – HOLI!

Amidst all the holi fun, it’s our skin that suffers! So, indulging in some skincare post enjoying the chemically indulged colours after Holi is imperative to avoid skin damage. These four steps by skin expert Santhosh Viren Vijayan at Quench Botanics will ensure you have a stress-free Holi.

DIY Milk Cleanser

Use this DIY milk cleanser: Apart from rinsing the colour with plain water, use this cleansing lotion. Mix half a cup of cold milk with any vegetable oil like sesame oil or sunflower oil. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and apply it on your face while massaging gently. Also Read - Can Obstetric Emergencies Be Presented In Emergency Rooms?

Sesame-oil

Sesame oil--Massaging your skin with sesame oil can help you get rid of the colour. You can also apply it before stepping out of the house as it also protects the skin from sun-damage. You can also use a loofah or a washcloth to scrub the colour off the body. But remember to moisturise your skin immediately after you finish bathing.

Curd And Honey Pack

Honey and curd face pack--The day after Holi, mix two tablespoons of honey, half a cup of curd and a pinch of turmeric. Mix well and apply this on your face and neck. Wash it off after 20 minutes.

Herbal Shampoo

Use a mild herbal shampoo--Holi colours contain tiny particles of minerals like mica. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water and wash off the colour. After thorough rinsing, use a mild herbal shampoo and massage it gently into your scalp and hair. Rinse with water. Also Read - Is Your Lifestyle Putting You At Risk Of Inflammatory Bowel Disease?

Beer

Beer--Squeeze a lemon into a mug of beer and pour this mixture over your hair after you finish washing it with shampoo. Rinse your hair with water after five minutes. Beer acts as a conditioner and softens your hair.

Coconut Oil

Oiling your hair--A day or two after Holi, massage your hair and scalp with a mixture of one tablespoon coconut oil and one teaspoon castor oil. After the massage, cover your hair with a warm towel wrap. To make the warm wrap, soak the towel in warm water and squeeze the water out. Wrap this towel around your head like a turban. Keep it on for 5 minutes and repeat the wrap 3 or 4 times. Wash your hair after an hour or so. Also Read - First Drug Approved For Hot Flashes: Know What Causes Them?
