Overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands can cause oily skin. Dr Shuba Dharmana, Dermatologist and Medical Director, Lejeune Medspa, Bengaluru tells you how to tackle it.
Scrub once or twice. If you have an acne prone skin, avoid scrubbing which can stimulate more oil production and aggravate your acne.
Use a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid or tea tree oil as it will help decrease sebum production. Use a water based moisturizer to unclog your pores.
Dr Shuba Dharmana says, “Cleanse skin twice a day and never leave make up on at night whilst going to bed. Mineral makeup is best suited for oily skin and acne prone skin.”
Shuba Dharmana says, Avoid greasy food and dairy products.
Maintain a well-balanced diet: Dr Tomar says, “Incorporate a lot of fruits, vegetables, starch-rich food, raw seeds, nuts, fish and whole grains.”
Dr Shuba Dharmana says,“You can make your own DIY home scrub by mixing roughly ground oats with honey or milk and apply it on the face. Gently massage it to exfoliate your skin.”
Multani mitti mud pack will also help you to get rid of that excessive oil.
