Common in winter, dry air can irritate your throat thus chronic cough. Similarly, too moist air is perfect for growth of dust mites and mold (allergens), which can trigger asthma and cause constant coughing.
This is commonly seen among babies as we tend to over cloth them and oil their skin regularly. Moreover wet clothes and diapers would add to the problem. So dress them in pure cotton.
