It's summer; the sun is going to shine on bright, real bright. However, this time you can cope with tanned skin better with common kitchen ingredients. We give you nine home remedies for tan removal.
Curd: A cold bowl of curd is hydrating to the skin and acts as a natural cleanser. Apply some curd and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before you wash it.
Almonds: An almond scrub is refreshing to the skin and could manage suntans effectively. Soak almonds in water for 3-4 hours, grind them and apply this paste to the tanned skin.
Cabbage leaves: This leafy vegetable has useful healing properties and manages skin eruptions, rashes and wounds. Apply a few cold cabbage leaves to the affected area at least twice a week for 15 minutes.
Masoor dal paste: Soak 1 tbsp of masoor dal and make a paste of it. Add an equal amount of tomato puree and aloe extract. This mix of ingredients is great for skin exfoliation, moisturising and skin brightening purposes. Use this paste on your face and body and let it stay for 30 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
Lauki juice: Lauki is hydrating to the skin due to its rich water content and anti-inflammatory properties. This kitchen ingredient could banish suntan when applied 3-4 times a day.
Buttermilk: As a rejuvenating anti-tan scrub, buttermilk and oatmeal can resolve this skin problem too. Add 3 tsp of buttermilk to 1 tsp of oatmeal. Mix well and massage your face with this paste in circular motions.
Turmeric pack: Another effective remedy is a paste of turmeric, lemon juice and raw milk. Turmeric controls skin irritation while lemon and raw milk act as a skin bleach. Apply this mixture and let it dry. Wash off with tap water.
Ice: A cold sensation calms sunburns instantly. Take a few ice cubes, wrap them in a muslin (mulmul) cloth and apply it gently to the affected area. You can rub some ice cubes directly without the cloth in case of excessive burning.
