Acne may be a complicated problem. But sometimes, to zap a zit, all you need to do is to walk up to your spice cabinet in the kitchen and look for these four ingredients like I do. A word of caution: Most of these spices may cause a burning sensation. So they should never be applied directly on the skin.

Turmeric+honey: The time-tested remedy for everything from infections to cuts to skin problems is turmeric. Mix amba or kasthuri haldi with a dab of honey or with two teaspoon of gram flour and apply it on the pimples for 20 minutes before washing off. Alternatively, you can also sip on turmeric tea every day to heal the lesions from within.  Also Read - High Cholesterol Symptoms: 5 Warning Signs That Appear In Eyes, Legs And Tongue

Nutmeg-in-hindi

Nutmeg+Fuller's Earth: Jaiphal or nutmeg is a sweet-smelling spice, used to flavour sweets and savouries alike. Soak the nutmeg in water before grinding it against a hard surface like pestle. Mix the paste with a bit of fuller's earth and apply it at the site of the eruptions. Nutmeg can also lighten the scars left behind by acne.

Clove

Clove+ Fuller's earth: Traditionally, clove paste is used to remove scars and blemishes. But it could also work well as an acne treatment. Soak a clove in water and grind it with a little water. Now mix this paste with a teaspoon of Fuller's earth before you apply it on your skin.
