A stroke is a medical condition that occurs when the supply of blood to the brain is blocked or a blood vessel in the brain bursts. Either way, a stroke can cause lasting brain damage, long-term disability, or even death.
If you are experiencing a severe and sudden headache which does not feel normal, it could be a sign of an impending stroke. An unusually severe headache can indicate the formation of a clot in the brain, causing a headache.
Another sign your body may give of an Impending stroke is persistent hiccups. Although experts say that this signal has been shown more often in women. Hiccups occur when the stroke affects the medulla, the part of the brain that controls the area of breathing and swallowing.
Stress triggers the release of cortisol and adrenaline hormones, which allows blood vessels to constrict. When this occurs, individuals with blood sugar imbalances are at high risk of clot formation. These internal changes in the body allow the brain to react to sudden internal pressure, causing nausea and vomiting.
Unlike the crushing pressure often felt when a heart attack occurs, stroke-related symptoms are more subtle, like tightness, burning, and discomfort, due to reduced oxygen flow due by the formation of a clot in the vessel of the brain. These symptoms can be misunderstood as indigestion or acidity.
An impending stroke may give warning signs through unexplained vision changes. This occurs when the stroke affects the areas of the brain responsible for processing visual information.
A sudden mental confusion, such as experiencing trouble in speaking and disoriented memory, without any cause are warning sign of an impending stroke.
Another early warning sign of an impending stroke are facia drop or weakness in leg or arms. This symptoms occur becuase stroke affects the area of the brain that controls muscle function and coordination.
