Crash diets, or significantly reducing your calorie intake can disrupt your hormones, leading to delayed periods, said the expert in her post.

Lack of sleep

When you do not get enough sleep, your body produces more cortisol, a stress hormone that can affect your period.

Dehydration

Dehydration, according to the nutritionist, can throw off the hormonal balance in the body and delay your period.

Lack of exercise

Regular exercise can help regulate hormones and keep your period on track. But, leading a sedentary lifestyle restricts the flow of blood to the uterus, causing problems in the uterine wall, said the nutritionist.

Excessive heat

If you are dealing with very hot temperatures, body heat, it may cause acidity that further causes hormonal disbalance. It can raise your body temperature and contribute to hormonal imbalances, potentially delaying your period.
