Most breakfast cereals are sold as being healthy or containing whole grain however they are usually high in added sugar, refined carbohydrates and artificial flavouring. Consumption of these cereals in the morning would cause the blood sugar level to rise rapidly which then causes lack of energy shortly thereafter which in turn results into hunger which then follows. Regular consumption over time is likely to grow the risk of gaining weight, insulin resistance and poor heart health, particularly among children and busy adults who consume them on a daily basis.
