Stomach infection
People often experience an upset stomach, indigestion or dyspepsia, from time to time due to their irregular eating or drinking habits. This causes stomach infection which is medically known as viral gastroenteritis. It is a contagious infection that affects the stomach and intestine, especially in summer. The most common culprit for this condition, known as stomach flu, is a virus. However, harmful bacteria and parasites are also the reasons for the infection. Signs and symptoms of stomach flu include diarrhoea, vomiting, nausea, fever, headache, abdominal pain and lack of appetite. There are certain foods and drinks which should be avoided in this weather to avoid the condition. They include caffeinated and sugary beverages and foods, fried and spicy foods. Including them in your diet may aggravate nausea and even diarrhea. However, don’t worry in case you are suffering from an upset tummy.
