Commonly formed around joints, especially the sole of your feet, a corn is a painful patch of hardened skin. Corns can be quite annoying and may hamper your daily work. Some of the common reasons behind the formation of corns are considered to be excessive pressure applied to one part of your foot or by wearing the wrong kind of footwear. Regardless of the reason behind its cause, getting rid of it can be really daunting. There, here we help you find some effective solutions to this in your kitchen shelf.
Liquorice or mulethi: Having potent pain-relieving properties, mulethi helps you get rid of painful corns. Moreover, it contains glycyrrhizin, glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid that help keep infections at bay and soften hardened skin. Grind mulethi sticks and mix half a teaspoon of sesame oil in this paste. Apply it on the affected area during your bed time.
Lemon: It is considered as a great remedy to treat a corn because of its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Moreover, it softens the skin of a corn and helps in its gradually healing due to its acidic nature. To use it right, place a fresh slice of lemon on the affected area and wrap it with a clean cloth. Leave it for the rest of the night. Repeat it for around two weeks to completely get rid of corns.
Papaya: Due to its irritant properties, raw papaya helps get rid of the callused skin or a corn. To use it right, extract its juice and apply on the affected area every night.
Garlic: To soften a corn, garlic is considered as a great remedy due to its potent antibacterial and antifungal properties. To use it right, make a paste by crushing garlic cloves and apply it on the affected area. Now, wrap it with a bandage and let it stay for an entire night.
