Weaning Recipe – Mashed potato, carrots and peas

Here is how you can add a twist to the bland mashed potato and make your baby eat more veggies .

When trying to introduce vegetables to your baby, potato is a popular choice. It is easily available and every household s favourite. While many people advised me to give my daughter mashed potato when she was around eight months old, I added more to the list to make it a wholesome offering. Here is another amazing weaning recipe apple badam kheer.

Ingredients

  • cup peeled and boiled potatoes
  • cup peeled and boiled carrots
  • cup boiled green peas
  • Salt to taste (optional)

  • Wash all the vegetables separately and peel the potato and carrot. Wash them thoroughly once again.
  • Cut them into small pieces and keep aside.
  • Wash the green peas separately.
  • Put all the vegetables in a pressure cooker and add one and a half cup of water. Add a little salt to taste. If you wish, you can add one scoop of badam or almond powder.
  • Allow the vegetables to cook in the pressure cooker for five to 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the flame and allow it to cool.
  • Drain excess water and mash the vegetables together.
  • To improve consistency, add few drops of milk to it. Avoid this if you have seen allergy or unusual rashes after giving cow s milk.

Offer spoonfuls of this healthy snack to your baby.
