Once you start weaning, you know how difficult it is to keep experimenting with tastes and textures, until you learn about your child s tastes. One way of introducing texture to your baby s diet is by pureeing fruits and making various fruit preparations. One common fruit preparation that is famous in every Indian household during weaning is banana sheera. Here is another kheer recipe: Apple, badam kheer.
This recipe is healthy, quick to make and very satisfying. Being rich in carbohydrates and other essential minerals, this makes up for an excellent mid-morning or evening snack and can keep your bundle of energy full for long.
Next, add roasted suji (you can add either roasted jowar or nachni as per your taste)
Add a little milk to add consistency.
Next, add a half spoon of sugar or a peanut-sized jaggery. Remember, banana has a natural sweetness so if you wish you can avoid adding sugar or jaggery.
Stir well till all the ingredients mix.
Take it out of the flame and add the mashed ripe banana and mix well.
Once the sheera cools, give your child spoonfuls of the same. This recipe is suitable for babies seven months and beyond.
