Dr Seuss books are magical, let me just get that out. And not just children, there are Dr Seuss books that even adults should read. Dr Seuss is one of the book series that are a must-have on your child's book shelf, right next to Eric Carle, Julia Donaldson and Oliver Jeffers. However, it is not in the same league as other children's authors. While these people write about fiction, which is just amazing, Dr Seuss books weave non-fiction, academic facts with such beautiful imagination and lovely play on words that children end up learning about a lot of things without having to study and that is the beauty of Dr Seuss books.
I love the beautiful, creative and full of imagination books that are some of the Dr Seuss books. Oh! The Places You Will Go is one of my all time favourites and is one book that everyone, regardless of age should read. Yes, even adults. It is a book that talks about life, its ups and downs, opportunities and the immense possibilities that life brings. It is one of the many such books in the Dr Seuss collection. Then there's Oh The Thinks You Can Think, and I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, and many more. These books are whacky and helluva creative and will make you wonder how can a writer be THAT creative. Trust me when I say this, you will start looking at everything in a different perspective after reading these timeless books by Dr Seuss.
Then, of course, there is the Cat In The Hat series, that all children love. My child is obsessed with it. That cat is spunky, funny, does magical things and knows everything about everything. The books in the cat in the hat series are categorised and colour coded, with each set of books meant for kids at different developmental stages. These books are the best ones to get your child to learn things and concepts in the most fun way. Say Can You Say Dinosaur, My Oh My A Butterfly, If I Ran The Rainforest, and so many other titles will teach kids about a lot of cool stuff, while seeming like it is play. And of course, the best part is the writing style. The rhyming and sing-song style of writing gets the attention of every child and you will have your child memorising the lines and repeating the words soon enough. The illustrations are amazing with brilliant artists like artists Ruiz and Joe Mathieu making the books colourful.
Dr Seuss books are one of the best things you can gift to your child.
