No matter how lenient you have been throughout the year, come exam and you will be after your child to study and concentrate. And this is also the time when your child will find it almost impossible to concentrate on studies. Too much study will also make your child sleepy! And while sleep is important even during exams, your child needs to concentrate on studies too. So what can you do to help your child concentrate better? Here are a few tips from single moms that will help you.

  • Make a time plan and stick to it: The best thing to do is to make a plan that you and your child is comfortable with and stick to it. Make concessions for play and some time off studies too. Do not cramp your child's day with more studies than she can handle.
  • Take one thing at a time: Do not cramp your child's day so much that she finds it difficult to concentrate on anything. It is easier to focus on one thing at a time than having your head all over the place.
  • Eat foods that help boost concentration: There are foods that can help you concentrate and even improve your memory. As a thumb rule, avoid foods that are too heavy and rich, as it will make you bloated and sleepy.
  • Meditate and do yoga: Meditation is a sure-shot way of boosting your child's concentration. There are specific meditation techniques and yoga asanas to boost concentration, and there are some yoga asanas too.
  • Unwind and relax: A relaxed mind can concentrate better than a stressed one. If you want your child to concentrate better, then you need to let her relax and unwind too. Too much of continuous study will tire her out, and then she will be grumpy, not alert. Frequent breaks and some time away from books is recommended.
