Dr Geetika says It is a common misconception that breastfeeding or the use of breast pumps causes breast sagging and it is not true. It is only when the nursing mother fails to wear a good quality bra while breastfeeding that the breasts sag. Also, lack of exercise and not taking proper care of the body can lead to breast sagging. Hence, by wearing a good quality bra or sports bra and eating a proper diet, you can keep the breast in shape post breastfeeding. Here are more tips to prevent saggy breasts after breastfeeding that might help!

And as far as the use of breast pump is concerned, It doesn t cause breast sagging. Rather, if you have learnt how to use a breast pump correctly, it will make your life easier. Whether you are a working mother or are away from your baby, the breast pump can come to your rescue. By any means, it doesn t make the breast sag. Moreover, a 2008 study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal has revealed that pregnancy is the main reason for breast sagging and not breastfeeding. It is during pregnancy that a woman s breasts increases in size and starts to shrink after she stops nursing.
