When I was pregnant, I started preparing my house for when the baby would arrive. Not just the baby's clothes and other things, I started scouting for other essentials like things I will need for breastfeeding, essential medication, and where would the baby sleep. This was very important for me because a. babies spend a lot of time sleeping and b. there are way too many options available, and I wanted to make an informed decision that suited me and would be comfortable for the baby. After a lot of asking around of experienced mothers and reading online, I deduced that co-sleeping and a crib for the baby were the two main options. I knew one thing, I had to have the baby in my room, close to me because I was planning to breastfeed exclusively, for as long as I could, and also because I could not stand the idea of having my little baby being away from me. And this belief was reinstated once I had the baby, and I knew co-sleeping was what suited me. But a lot of moms were shocked when I said that co-slept with my baby, and still do. So I asked other moms what they did for the sleeping arrangements with their children, and this is what they shared.

"As much as I wanted to co-sleep with my baby, I just couldn't be at peace when I had my baby in bed with me. I constantly worried about rolling over my baby, or getting her little hands or feet under me. So once my baby fell asleep, I would transfer her to the crib, and that suited me the best." - Niyati Sanghvi.

"I have been co-sleeping my baby for the last three years, starting when she was a newborn. I do plan on shifting her to a separate bed in her own room when she turns four, but for now, co-sleeping suits us. When she was a newborn, I used a baby mattress, a co-sleeper that saves the baby from getting crushed under the parent It was a boon, especially because I was breastfeeding, and also because I used keep waking up and check on my baby's breathing." - Niti Singh.

"I started looking for sleeping options when I was pregnant, and when I saw a co-sleeper that fits right next to a bed, I was sold and I knew that it was the one I was looking for. It has been such a life saver because it made breastfeeding at night very convenient, and I could sleep peacefully without worrying that I'll crush my baby." - Nikhat Shhaikh.
