Follow the instructions while preparing formula food

If you wish to formula feed your baby or keep her on partial formula feeds, remember at no point should you skip or ignore the instructions written on the bottle to prepare the right mix. Most brands and products have different preparation methods and procedures; read them well before you start preparing a feed for your baby. Always use the right amount of water and baby food to mix them as instructed. Also read why you shouldn't give your baby water before six months of age.

In case you add too much water while prepare the mix, to dilute the feed, remember it will interfere with your baby's proper nutrition intake. And too less water can lead to dehydration or even give rise to a bout of constipation. So stick to the instructions meticulously, unless your doctor has advised you to do it in a particular way for any medical reason. Also read six things to consider before switching to formula.

Also don't add other food items like pureed cereals or fruits in the bottle to increase the nutrition intake. This would make it difficult for your baby to swallow the formula, restricting the flow of the liquid from the bottle to the teats. It can also have the potential risk of a choking hazard.
