Yellow teethHello, I am a 22-year-old guy and currently pursuing my studies in business management. I want white, clean looking teeth but I don't know how I can get them. I know about bleaching offered by dentists but cannot afford it right now. Can you please give me some natural tips to get whiter teeth?

Teeth are always the best component of a human face. They can either create or destroy an impression. Taking good care of them can also save you from oncoming gum problems. This can be done by improving your oral hygiene. Here are a few tips that you can imbibe in your routine:

  • Good ol' tulsi

You can either use dried, powdered leaves of the holy basil as it is or mix it with mustard oil/ orange peel powder for brushing your teeth. The highly valued holy basil (tulsi) is known to protect against bleeding gums and also increase the whiteness of the teeth.

  • Go bananas

You probably know the health benefits of banana. But did you know that the banana peel could possibly help your teeth sparkle too? Rub the white inside part a banana peel on your teeth. Leave it on for a couple of minutes and rinse. Banana peel is a good source of minerals like potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc. It's a good antioxidant and is also rich in carbohydrates and fibre. • Don't smoke

Smoking is a sure shot way to ruin your oral health. It messes up your teeth, the nicotine making them look disgusting and yellow. It also makes you more likely to have destructive gum disease due to greater occurrence of gums pulling away from the teeth to form pockets and increased destruction of bone that supports your teeth. This results in more extensive tooth loss in smokers.

Besides, avoiding junk food, switching to a better toothpaste and regular dental check-ups by an expert dentist can help you to save your 32 pearls. (Read: Get whiter teeth with these 8 simple tips)
