Wrestling star Steve Regal, popularly known as 'Mr. Electricity' dies at 73 in July. The death of the former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion was confirmed by the National Wrestling Alliance in an official statement on 8 December. The tragic news left fans across the wrestling community pouring tributes for the veteran performer.
In a statement, the NWA stated that Steve Regal's death had gone unnocticed within the wrestling circles until recently. The situation came to light when a promoter attempted to reach out to him for a scheduled 2026 event. The 74-year-old reportedly lived in Indiana at the time of his death. At the time of the announcement, authorities and wrestling officials did not reveal any update on Steve Regal's cause of death.

Mourning the loss, one internet user wrote, "Oh man, this is sad to hear. He was such a great talent and very underappreciated IMO. RIP Mr. Electricity, thank you for the great memories." Another user stated, "Steve Regal was the nicest guy, horrible news about his passing. I met Steve in 1986 and we chatted for an hour..."
A third user added, "I saw him wrestle in AWA back in the 80's. He was a great wrestler and great heel. Condolences to his family." One more internet user added, "Remember when Steve Regal and Jimmy Garvin beat the Road Warriors for the AWA World Tag Team title. RIP."
Steve Regal reportedly joined the WWF in 1986 but served the company for two months. Later, the 73-year-old wrestler returned to the NWF and participated in several competitions untill his retirement in 1996. Steve Regal spent most of his time wrestling in All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he teamed with notable stars including Stan Hansen, Harley Race, and The Destroyer.
