July 28th is World Hepatitis Day and the theme for this year is ELIMINATION. Hepatitis is known as a silent killer as every year around 1.4 million people die from hepatitis an inflammation of the liver. According to WHO (World Health organisation) around 6 10 million people are infected every year with viral hepatitis. And more than 90% cases of hepatitis C can be completely treated within 3 6 months if diagnosed early. Although vaccines are available for hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccines for hepatitis C are still under clinical trials which make it necessary to prevent the condition.
