Health News Live Updates: A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the southern coasts of Chile and Argentina on Friday, the United States Geological Survey said. According to the reports, the earthquake struck between Cape Horn and Antarctica at a depth of just 10 km (6 miles) at 9:58am local time and was followed by several smaller aftershocks.
Chilean authorities have also issued a tsunami warning for the country's southernmost region.

"Due to the threat of a tsunami, the evacuation of the beach area of the Antarctic Territory, Magallanes Region, is requested," the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) said in a message sent to the public.
