World Health News Live Updates: Once declared 'eliminated', deadly measles virus has returned to the United States after over 20 years. The country is grappling with the highly contagious virus, which has already taken over 800 individuals in its grip. According to the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report, the virus has spread to over 25 jurisdictions as of April 17, 2025. Among all, Texas is the most affected state, accounting for 597 cases since late January. The outbreak has resulted in two deaths, both among unvaccinated school-aged children.
