World Health News Live Updates: After dealing with the deadliest coronavirus (COVID-19) for over 4 years, experts have sounded the alarm bell for another deadly virus outbreak in the country. Health experts and physicians have raised concerns about the 'KILLER Nipah virus' transmission from animals to humans in Kerala's northern districts. In the latest case, a 42-year-old woman from Valanchery in Malappuram district is in a coma and continues to be supported by a ventilator after contracting the deadly virus.

However, it is still unclear as to how the virus is getting transmitted in Kerala during the annual outbreaks that have been occurring for the past seven years.

On the other hand, the United States (US) is battling the worst measles outbreak in over 30 years. As per the latest data, with over 1,000 cases in 11 affected states, measles has swept through the US this year. Measles is a viral disease that can cause severe respiratory distress in the infected individual. While Texas was already in the midst of this measles outbreak, today the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) stated that eight more cases of measles have been logged since its last update on May 9. These new cases lift the Texas outbreak total to 717 from 32 counties. Additionally, the state has reported 15 more cases that are not a part of the West Texas outbreak.
