Work on Rai Bareli AIIMS-like institution to begin soon

The Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad has announced that the work on AIIMS at Rae Bareli will start soon. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rae Bareli, which is the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been waiting in the wings for a long time now. This new hope for the ambitious project to become a reality has brought a great sigh of relief from most.

Taking his announcement a step further the Union Health Minister also promised that the medical colleges in Aligarh, Varanasi, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Meerut would also be upgraded. After meeting Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Azad said he was happy that the state government has made healthcare a priority.
