As a part of the campaign, the mascots interacted with the public in the city, disseminated information on do s and don ts for a healthy heart. People also clicked snaps as ‘Selfie moment’ and ‘Joyful snap’ and uploaded it on social media. They were given heart shaped stress balls as complimentary to burst their stress which leads to most of the heart diseases. With this initiative, Wockhardt group supported NGOs in different cities like Smt. Garda Anath Balakashram on Trimbakeshwar Road, Nashik; Mahajan Anath Balashram, Katargam, Surat; Manav Seva Samaj Vikas Sanstha, Mithani Dargah, Nagpur and El-Shaddai Charitable Trust, Madgaon, Goa.

Speaking about this awareness initiative for the society, Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, said, ‘This year s theme by World Heart Federation for World Heart Day is to spread the message of having a Heart-healthy environment . With the help of these mascots we at Wockhardt tried to reach the people and spread the message of heaving a healthy heart. An occasion like this gives us a chance to reach the community directly and spread awareness about protecting their heart and being healthy. We are happy to do our bit to make the environment healthy to live.’

Mr. Anupam Varma, Vice President, Wokhardt Hospitals, says ‘Today, most of the people suffer from cardiovascular disease (CVD). The places in which we live, work and play should not increase our risk of cardiovascular disease. However, individuals cannot frequently make heart-healthy choices due to environmental factors, such as the availability of healthy food or smoke-free zones. Diet and physical activity plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy heart. We would like to spread the message of having a healthy heart by continuous help and support to the public by celebrating this occasion by connecting to the society in a unique way’.
