It is not just the blood glucose levels but a lot of factors are taken into consideration when it comes to diet for diabetes. For example, if two people with diabetes eat the same sort of food, then the blood glucose level of a person, who is newly diagnosed with diabetes with no added health problems, it can cause the glucose levels to rise by 10 mg/dl. For others, it might go up by 15 mg/dl. However, for a person who is suffering from diabetes from the past 25 years and has health complications (or complicated diabetes), eating the same food can lead to a rapid surge of 100 mg/dl of glucose levels. Hence, the blood glucose levels along with the complexity of the condition also matter.
