Six more infant deaths were reported from the Medical College Hospital in Malda in West Bengal in the past 24 hours taking the toll to 19 deaths in less than a week. Earlier in 2012 the hospital had reported 27 infant deaths. A H Khan Chowdhury Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare is monitoring the situation. According to sources seven babies died on Thursday while three died on Friday. Three more babies died between Saturday and Sunday.
