A frenzy broke out when the first season of Netflix's Wednesdaypremiered nearly three years ago, and now, it's happening again. The second season of the Emmy-award-winning Netflix series, starring black-pigged tailed, emotionally reserved high-school student Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, dropped on Wednesday, 6 August.
Despite achieving massive success at a young age, Jenna Ortega faced her fair share of struggles behind closed doors. And much like many in today's generation, who struggle to cope with mental health issues, the award-winning actress was once recorded expressing her struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
The 22-year-old actress, in an interview with a leading media outlet, once opened up about how OCD affects her day-to-day life, mostly when she feels overwhelmed by the constant routine of life as a young artist.
"It's very difficult because I am always travelling for work, and it's always a new environment and whatever the job is... You kinda create a new routine that you can only stick to for six weeks because then you're off to the next one." I feel I need to go to bed around 8 pm or 8:30, but I don't because it's the only time I get things done," Jenna Ortega shared. "Also, when I'm tired, I have pretty intense OCD."
She further explained, "Repetitive thoughts and counting everything multiple times, and having to do the same action over and over. Sometimes my nights consist of just being really exhausted and going up and down the stairs six times because that's what I think I need to do to make sure no one breaks into my home."
How Jenna Ortega Copes With OCD?
"I'm trying to meditate, and that's been a little bit of a learning curve, but I'm getting quite good at it now," Jenna Ortega said in the interview. "And I think I have to start my day that way, otherwise, it explains kind of my anxiety in recent years."
