Manchester United main man Wayne Rooney has a minor groin problem and temporary boss Ryan Giggs says he is a doubt for Saturday's home game with Sunderland, reports BBC. He has also been ill lately and according to Ryan Giggs: 'Together with the bug, it means his immune system is down so we have to watch that.' 'A few of the lads have had a bug,' the player-manager added. 'Wayne Rooney has, Anders Lindegaard has. Wayne has a tight groin, too. Together with the bug, it means his immune system is down so we have to watch that.
'Wayne being Wayne, he wants to play and wants to be involved. We will monitor it over the next 24 hours.' However, it's understood that this won't hamper Rooney's chances of participating in the World Cup in Brazil. Missing out on Wayne Rooney won't hurt much since Giggs can recall ace strike Robin Van Persie who has been out injured due to knee injury since scoring a match-winning hat-trick against United's victory over Olympiakos.
'Robin has been back training and looks good,' said Giggs. The Welshman also joked: 'I'm just trying to keep myself fit and try to win every game. I might not get into the team!'
